FAQ's

Q) Where are you based?

A) We have offices throughout the UK. We arrange any appointments at a place and time to suit you in your area, though we find that we are able to deal with most matters by email and telephone as this leads to speedier solutions.

Q) Do I need to make an appointment?

A) No, we will advise you over the telephone as stated in the last answer. We assess whether a case is likely to be suitable for no win/no fee.

Q) Which barrister's opinion do you obtain?

A) A barrister who is expert in the particular field of legal expertise required to deal with your particular matter. All the barristers are working in barristers' chambers throughout the country, and we will try to choose one in your area.

Q) Can I use a solicitor of my choice?

A) If they are competent in the relevant area of law, or, if you prefer, you can use one of our panel of expert solicitors. You are the client and your interests are paramount.

Q) Do I pay for your initial assessment of my case?

A) No. We assess your case initially to see whether it is likely that a barrister will take it on and, then, if you require a more detailed assessment from an experienced barrister, we charge a small agreed admin fee. There is no obligation. Thereafter we incur no fees without first agreeing them with you in advance, should that ever become necessary.

Q) Do I pay for the barrister's opinion?

A) No, there is no fee payable to the barrister in these circumstances for his more detailed assessment. the admin fee is paid to us to arrange the opinion which the barrister provides to us to ascertain the suitability of your case to a No Win - No Fee.

Q) How much do I pay?

A) Your barrister will work on your behalf, once he agrees to take on your case, on a no win - no fee basis and we will try and arrange insurance so that you do not pay the other side's costs, even if you were to lose your case. You pay us an admin fee only when, with your prior approval, we instruct the barrister to advise on no win, no fee.

Q) Does this arrangement put me at any advantage?

A) In our opinion, most definitely. We are convinced that you will have a real advantage over your opponent as you will have a conditional fee arrangement in place. In addition, your opponent will know that you have a barrister who is totally committed to your case, and who may only get paid if and when he wins your case. You barrister will really have to believe in your case. His livelihood depends upon winning. He is therefore very much "on side."

Q) Do I have to pay an insurance premium in advance?

A) No, if you decide to take out insurance, the premium will only be payable upon winning your claim. There is no obligation for you to take out insurance in any event.
